THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH – THE STUDY GUIDE FOR THE FILM

Take your students on a trip to Morocco and England with this Alfred Hitchcock film. THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH is another of Hitchcock's famous movies that uses a favorite plot : innocent people caught up in a set of circumstances they can neither understand nor control.

In THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH , an American doctor (Ben McKenna, played by Jimmy Stewart), his wife (Jo McKenna, a famous singing star, played by Doris Day) and their son are on vacation in French Morocco. Through circumstances unclear to the parents, the entire family becomes tied up in both family problems and those of international importance. Along the way, the parents must make a number of ethical decisions which will determine their son's fate.

         Included in the study guide are the following:

  • definitions and literary terms pertinent to the movie,
  • background information to explain some of the situations which arise,
  • cinematic trivia,
  • reproducible study questions to use as the movie progresses,
  • a post-movie test test;
  • a number of writing/research topics based on what the students have learned in the movie.
