CAROLINE? – THE STUDY GUIDE FOR THE FILM
|
|
This Hallmark Hall of Fame © mystery presents the story of Caroline Carmichael, a
young woman who suddenly reappears after having been presumed dead for fourteen years. The woman claiming to be Caroline certainly looks like the long-lost daughter of Paul Carmichael and his first wife, but the present Mrs. Carmichael has her doubts, especially since Caroline has returned just before time has run out to claim an inheritance from her recently-deceased grandmother.
Compounding the problem are the new Carmichael children, Winston and Heidi (whose handicap adds a key element to the story). They are bewildered by Caroline's reappearance and her new influence on their lives. Is this person really who she says she is, and how can she convince her family of her identity?

This film addresses many themes; among them are truth vs. right, family ties, and
acceptance of handicaps.
